MEET HELEN
I am an international consultant, lawyer and manager. I have longstanding experience in international dispute resolution, law, banking, and lawtech, working with financial services, legal services, government, and healthcare. I am also an experienced board member.

From advising and supporting international finance clients as a young lawyer at a leading City law firm, via spending over 18 years managing high value and complex international legal disputes in over 50 international jurisdictions at a leading global bank, to overseeing the creation of concepts for small business focused online dispute resolution systems in the UK and the Ukraine, while living through the development of business technology from faxes to online collaborative tools, I am committed to finding practical, technology enabled and commercial solutions for my clients – and their clients.

Post my executive career I have developed my expertise in financial controls, risk, people management, technology and healthcare, as well as thought leadership on the economic impact of the law and the need for better ways of dispute resolution.
​
My guiding principles are fairness and effective impact. Throughout my career I have focused on developing the most efficient, pragmatic, commercial, and cost effective solutions for clients, whether in managing high value international legal cases or working on online dispute resolution systems designed to support economic success for small business in the UK and abroad.

My decades of dispute management experience (having seen that formal disputes can be lengthy and prohibitively expensive, and ultimately fail to deliver the best outcomes for businesses) has led me to focus on practical ways of making dispute management more efficient and cost effective, and alternative, technology enabled, ways of dealing with contentious cases.
​
I also have a non-executive career. I am currently a director and trustee of the St John’s Eye Hospital Group, providing expert eye care in Israel and Palestine. I am a board member of the UK Human Tissue Authority, regulating the management of human tissue in the UK, and of the Gambling Commission regulating gambling in Great Britain and the National Lottery in the UK. I am a director of LegalUK, a think tank promoting English law and the UK as a legal services and dispute resolution centre of global excellence. I was formerly a director of the London Court of International Arbitration, an international arbitration business providing alternative dispute resolution services.
